Those who thought we would never have winter – or those who were predicting warm weather until February – have been mistaken as the last 24 hours were the first signs that winter is coming.
Or perhaps it has already arrived.
Heavy rains have hit Malta in the last 24 hours, most notably during the night, with thundery showers affecting most parts of the island. Flooding has been reported in notorious low-lying areas.
The temperatures have dropped too, and the coats and raincoats have finally come out of the wardrobe.
The next few days are predicted to be like the last 24 hours, until the weekend when the weather should improve.
