Saturday, 20 December 2014, 18:04 Last update: about 10 years ago

Emirates is bringing the culture of its Asian destinations to the streets in Valletta on Sunday 21 and Monday 22 December. Located at Piazza de Vallette, the mobile kitchen will offer passersby experiences and food specialities that some of Emirates' Far East destinations offer, as well as conveying the spirit of this exciting part of the world.

The Emirates-branded mobile kitchen - Satisfy you appetite for culture - will be offering a variety of cuisines from Indian, Thai, Chinese and Sushi favourites specially prepared by an Asian chef. A seating lounge area will provide passersby with a relaxed and comfortable environment, which would serve as a good break from the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping.  During the 2-day campaign, the mobile kiosk will be open from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00hrs.

Paul Fleri Soler, Emirates Manager in Malta said: "Travelling is about discovering new tastes, flavours and cultures. We are, therefore, giving our customers an authentic taste of Asian hospitality and culture through this occasion of food sampling. The mobile kitchen will also represent Asia's street food culture which serves to give customers a chance to stop, eat and socialise while often on the go."

Emirates offers convenient connections from Malta to its 17 Far East destinations through its 21st century hub in Dubai.  These include Bangkok, Beijing, Guangzhou, Haneda, Hanoi (cargo), Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Osaka, Phuket, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo.

The airline operates daily flights from Malta to Dubai via Larnaka, Cyprus. Customers will find convenient connections onward to any of the Far East destinations aboard Emirates state-of-the-art Boeing 777 and its flagship A380 aircraft.

Emirates ensures a range of features both on board and on ground for its customers so that they make the most of the flight including spacious cabins, world-class ice entertainment system,  and award-winning dining experience to get the holiday off a good start. Options are endless with ice - there are up to 2,000 channels of entertainment waiting to be discovered onboard as well as some of the latest movies. Additional features onboard include sms, telephone and email; Wi-Fi on the A380 aircraft; live BBC news; and specially designed on board lighting to reduce the effects of jetlag, so that travellers will arrive at their destination feeling rested and refreshed.

"To us the journey matters as much as the destination. We are constantly launching new and exciting products to ensure travellers benefit from world-class innovations at every step of their journey with us," said Mr Fleri Soler.
