Engine problem forces cargo airbus to land in Malta on its way from Libya to Turkey

The Aviation Herald reports that a ULS Airlines Cargo Airbus A310-300, registration TC-VEL performing freight flight GP-452 from Misrata (Libya) to Istanbul (Turkey), was climbing out of Misrata when the crew stopped the climb at FL180 reporting a problem with the left hand engine (CF6) and decided to divert to Malta (Malta) for a safe landing on runway 31 about 45 minutes after departure.
The incident happened on Monday and the aircraft was still on the ground in Malta about 64 hours after landing.
