Wednesday, 28 January 2015, 15:16 Last update: about 10 years ago

Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport this morning visited Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary Schools in Naxxar, to launch the second year of the A4U and Be Active scheme. The two projects are set to allow young people develop their talents and potential.

The A4U scheme provides financial support to NGOs working with young people, which may be used to invest in resources, or training for employees. Be Active provides financial support allowing projects to be implemented by such NGOs.

Last year, almost a 100 events benefited from the scheme, and it is estimated that 16,000 young people benefited from projects supported by the scheme.

The launch was held at Agenzija Zghazagh’s youth hub, which hosts students after school hours, and caters for informal education.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, applications were received for young people interested in joining band clubs and practicing a musial instrument.
