A 31-year-old Serb was today handed a suspended sentence after admitting to threatening his flatmates and assaulting one of them with a chair, causing slight injuries.
The incident took place yesterday evening in a Sliema apartment which the Serb shares with Macedonian flatmates.
Strahinja Vukosavljevic admitted, before Magistrate Neville Camilleri, to threatening Aheta Ctamehoba, Filip Acevski and Vlatko Georgievski during a drunken rage. He also admitted injuring Mr Georgievski with a chair, breaching the peace, being in possession of a fake ID card, disobeying police orders and threatening and offending police officers at the Sliema station
Mr Vukosavljevic was handed an eight-month jail sentence, suspended for two years. The court also fined him €1,000. It is understood that he will be deported after paying the fine.
Police Inspector Jason Sultana prosecuted while lawyer Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
