Watch: Maltese priest among recipients of Mexican highest award

Maltese Antoine Camilleri was among the recipients of Mexico's highest honour, given to foreigners.

In the past, Nelson Mandela, Bill Gates and U2 were also among the recipients. 

Msgr. Dominique Mamberti, the Vatican's Foreign Minister, received the award recently in Mexico's Embassy to the Holy See. 

 

Other recipients were Antoine Camilleri, who holds the number two post in the Holy See's Relations with States. Also on the list, Italian Paolo Gualtieri, who focuses on diplomacy in North America and Alberto Gasbarri, who deals with logistics in papal trips. 

In addition to recognizing their work the Aztec Eagle award, is also a way of thanking recipients for their work in improving diplomatic ties between both states .
