PN leader makes clear he is departing from past PN government position on Monti in Ordnance Street

Saturday, 7 February 2015, 19:59 Last update: about 10 years ago

Stung by the Labour Party reaction to his earlier press conference in Ordnance Street against the relocation of the Monti to there, PN leader Simon Busuttil made it clear that whatever might have been promised by the previous PN administration, this is a new party leadership and its position, as explained by Dr Busuttil earlier, is that a PN administration will not allow the Monti to set up in any part of Ordnance Street.

PL had published an email sent by then minister Jason Azzopardi to a Monti representative in the afternoon of election day committing a PN administration to allow the Monti to relocate to Ordnance Street, making it clear it would have only admitted it to the side next to Palazzo Ferreria and the shopping arcade without allowing it to cross Republic Street to next to the open-roof theatre.

PN also challenged Labour to publish the text of the agreement reached between PL and the Monti representatives a few days before the election.
