Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson, Prof. Arnold Cassola, said: "Alternattiva Demokratika elected councillors will work in the council to ensure that we have more investment for cultural activities and in public libraries, for the protection of open spaces, with better accessibilty for the elderly, persons with disabilities and parents with young children. Increasing road spaces for cyclists and improving facilities for pedestrians should be a top priority for our councillors in local councils".
Alternattiva Demokratika candidate for Qormi, Henrik Piski, said: "If elected, I will work to increase the sense of community and cooperate with local organizations in organizing cultural activities, educational and sports events. Publications and informational signs concerning places of historical should be updated and set up for the benefit of locals and tourists alike..
"I will work for more native trees to be planted, in particular along roads with traffic like Triq il-Vittorja; to increase the areas reserved for people through pedestrianalisation; to increase the number of bicycle tracks around Ħal Qormi. I will also work to improve the quality of air in Qormi in addressing the modernisation of ovens of local bakeries and the raising of its chimneys. I will lobby to stop unfettered construction in our town".
