If five months are OK, why are 15 mornings not OK?

Whoever watched the Xarabank programme on spring hunting must have noticed Saviour Balzan’s continued insistence that hunters had five months in which they can practise their pastime, in autumn and winter.

At the same time, he and other anti-spring hunting speakers kept saying that the Maltese and Gozitan people were being denied the pleasure of enjoying the countryside during the 15 mornings in spring due to the danger to which they would be exposed due to the presence of hunters.

If Saviour Balzan and the other members of SHout have no problem with hunters being in the countryside for five whole months in autumn and winter – when the countryside is just as beautiful as it is in spring for people to enjoy – why are they making such a fuss about 15 mornings in spring?
