A Mepa employee – who happens to be a shop steward representing the UHM – was transferred to another section within Mepa overnight.

According to the UHM, the transfer did not take place according to established procedure and with a “sense of transparency”.

Therefore, the UHM has registered an industrial dispute at Mepa after it said that no valid reason was given by Mepa regarding his transfer.

 

“It is unacceptable for transfers to take place under the pretext that the transfer is part of Mepa’s reform when the procedure used was not one which is established,” the UHM said in a statement.
