Malta Chamber discusses trade and investment promotion with Russian entrepreneurs

Wednesday, 4 March 2015, 13:42 Last update: about 10 years ago

Opportunities for trade and investment with Russia were discussed between the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry and the Moscow Entrepreneurs Association (MEA).

From the discussions, healthcare and health-tourism, wine and agri-food, language tourism, architecture, interior design and luxury tourism emerged as most attractive sectors for the Russian market. Both sides agreed to co-operate and maintain relations in order to follow up on these opportunities in the coming weeks and months.

The meeting was held on 27 February and was made possible by Malta's representative for the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) Ms. Anastasia Budykho, as a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Malta Chamber in June 2014.

A delegation from the Russian Interregional Organisation headed by its President Andrey E. Podenok was visiting Malta on a fact-finding mission aimed at expanding trade and investment links with Malta. Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, the Association is the oldest inter-regional public organisation of entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation made up of businesses located in the 51 Russian regions as well as in other CIS countries. The Association operates a database on members' offers and demands, as it facilitates partner searches both in Russia and abroad.
