Works are being carried out in a number of government buildings in St Paul’s Bay while the housing authority is working on regenerating other governmental buildings around the island.

This was announced by Minister for Family and Social Solideraty Michael Farrugia this morning, who added that last year, the housing authority has launched three ambitious projects for extensive works to be carried out in government housing in St Paul’s Bay, Paola and Senglea. Works are being carried out on the facade as well as internally.

The authority will be investing almost €200,000 in St Paul’s Bay, and 24 families will be benefiting from the project.  In the upcoming weeks works are  expected to start in Paola and Senglea.

Dr Farrugia explained that procedures for tenders got delayed because of the large number of submissions it received.

The government is expected to work with 14 local councils to carry out similar projects, which are expected to amount to €800,000.
