Referendum and local council election ballot paper being printed -process to be completed Tuesday

Over 338,000 ballot paper are being printed out for the upcoming spring hunting referendum, while 197,000 are being printed for the local council elections.

As in the divorce referendum, the ballot for the spring hunting vote is being printed on white and brown paper.

The electoral commission has prepared 611 voting rooms in over a 100 centres for the spring hunting vote, and 300 rooms in 53 centres for the local council one.

Director for the government’s printing agency John Galea said that almost 200 reams of paper is being used for printing the ballot paper. It is standard procedure for the electoral commission to print more than required.

 

The printing will be completed by Tuesday 31 March.
