In an emotional post on Facebook by the partner of Justin Pace – who died in an unfortunate accident on Sunday afternoon – Kimberly Borg wrote that she never thought that she would have ever gone through such a horrible experience.

Pace, 21, died in a tragic fall in the area known as Fuq il-Gibjun (Nigret) in Zurrieq – his hometown. Initial investigations suggested that the man, who was with four friends, lost his balance while running, fell, and slammed his head on a rock. The youth lost consciousness and was unresponsive to treatment. The police said he later died in hospital.

In her open letter to Justin, Kimberly said that she never would have expected to see him die in front of her.

‘This morning, we woke up together and we ate together with my family; when would have I ever thought this was going to be the last time.

‘In the two years we have been together, you always did your utmost to keep me happy and you never denied me a single thing.

‘Justin, look over us all – your family, my family and your friends who loved you very much. I don’t know how I am going to cope without you. I am already missing you.

‘I love you Justin, gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace until one day we will meet again.’
