Wanted: a leader against terrorism

Sunday, 12 April 2015, 08:29 Last update: about 10 years ago

Tough political leaders crop up from time to time – leaders who have the willpower and determination to combat the scourge of terrorism infiltrating the whole world! Unfortunately, none has emerged recently.

During his tenure, US Republican President George W. Bush used to call terrorism the United States’ greatest security threat since World War II and solemnly declared that the war on terrorism must be waged “for years and decades to come, not weeks or months”.

Most of the countries around the globe agreed with this assessment and promised to pay whatever price was necessary to wage this war.

George W. Bush was a prophet. Since his departure from office, we have witnessed deep divisions in countries like Syria, Libya, Israel, Palestine, Kenya, Yemen, Egypt, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Russia, China – the list is endless. A miracle is needed to overcome the obstacles that lie ahead – but who dares take the first big step on this long and difficult road ahead? No one!

In the absence of such a leader, the world begs for a man of Hitler’s guts, calibre, willpower and determination to eradicate the scourge of terrorism once and for all – as Hitler did in 1933, when he transformed Germany in a few long months! We do not need any more talk of peace, no more signing ceremonies and handshakes in front of television cameras, because false peace will never last. We need action; we need a man of steel to steer us out of this hunger for blood; we need a man like Hitler for this job – a strong man, the like of which the world has never seen.....
