Political ransom

Sunday, 19 April 2015, 08:59 Last update: about 9 years ago

The SHout coalition accused the hunting minority of political ransom and opted for a referendum to remove power from politicians and to let the people decided on the continuation of spring hunting. Ironically, although the majority has spoken they now intend using their public support as a political force.

A post on the SHout Facebook page specifically states “Let’s make this community - half of voters - even stronger and a bigger political force that will be respected by our governments.”

Not prepared to accept the will of the majority it now transpires that they are the ones prepared to hold politicians to ransom. Can democracy be more vilified?
