Minister Scicluna attended various high level meetings with international financial institutions, discussing the country's economic outlook and the crucial economic reforms currently underway, and the economic and financial results being achieved

Minister Scicluna met with representatives of the IMF's Article IV Mission and Fiscal Affairs Department, and of international credit ratings agencies DBRS, Standard & Poor's, and Moody's. He also held meetings with World Bank Executive Director Patgrizio Pagano and IMF Executive Director Carlo Cottarelli. Together with his Portuguese and Greek counterparts, he also attended a constituency meeting called by Italian Finance Minister Pier Carlo Padoan.

"I am very satisfied with the outcome of these meetings and proud to communicate the excellent results that our country is achieving. Such meetings are essential for Malta to deliver on its promise of transparency, which was also extended to international institutions," Minister Scicluna said. "We continue to engage proactively with these institutions on the Government's economic plans and listen attentively to their views and advice in what has become a beneficial and trusting relationship."

Minister Scicluna was accompanied in Washington by the Central Bank of Malta Governor, Josef  Bonnici.
