The Bike Ride @ Night in Aid of Community Chestfund, set to be held on 28 August was launched ths morning by President Marie- Louise Coleiro Preca.

This is the first time that the event, which unites cyclists with motorcylicts, will be held in the evening.

Cyclists will be leaving from the palace in San Anona while motorcyclists will leave from the Verdala Palace. They will meet at Montekristo in Hal Farrug for a rock concert by the local group Fire.

The President thanked all participans for their enthuasism, and for uniting to practise the sport for a good cause, noting that hundreds of Maltese make use of the fund for treatment of illnesses abroad.

She explained that the Malta Community Chest Fund, which has now become a foundation to increase legality and transperency, has helped a number of students who were unable to continue with their studies. She added that the fund will continue to work to assist families in need.
