Labour MP Marlene Farrugia is suggesting that historic buildings could be integrated into the building of a university in the south of Malta.
Dr Farrugia makes the suggestion in an open letter to Hani Salah, chairman of the Sadeen Group which has shown an interest in building an education institution in the south, published today in The Malta Independent
Dr Farrugia writes that “integrating these beautiful buildings into your noble project will bring their infectious glory back to life, reward you with a project that deserves acclamation even from UNESCO, make your project amenable to partial funding from EU, inspire your students with the uniqueness of their surroundings, and turn our beautiful Three Cities, Kalkara and Marsascala into historical University cities reminiscent of Oxford and Cambridge.”
