An eight-year-old boy has been hospitalised after falling from a second-floor window onto a canopy which fortunately broke his fall before throwing him on a pavement below at about 8.15am in Triq il-Kullegg, Mosta, the police said.

The police said that after hitting the canopy, the boy rolled on to the pavement below.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment. The police late said that he suffered slight injuries.
