Prime Minister reveals seven applications relating to yacht marinas

A Parliamentary question to the Prime Minister revealed that 7 applications relating to yacht marinas currently exist.

MP Censu Galea had posed the question. There are two proposals for Ghajnsielem, one for  Cospicua, Sliema, Marsascala, Floriana and one in National Territory.

The Ghajnsielem applications suroound Proposed organised boat mooring and Proposed yacht berths and floating pontoon.

The National Territory application would see a breakwater to enclose marina around Marsamxetto Harbour/Lazzaretto Creek, Manoel Island.

The Cospicua application would see the rehabilitation and redevelopment of the dock area bormla, to include residential and mixed use facilities, landscaping, restoration of existing buildings and yacht berthing facilities.

The Sliema application proposes new Yacht pontoons.

The Marsascala application proposes redevelopment of the ex-National Waterpolo pitch into a mixed use development including sports and recreational facilities, residential, tourist accomodation and commercial spaces; and redevelopment of an all-weather yacht marina including reorganisation of mooring, construction of breakwater, placing of pontoons and upgrading of quays and ancillary facilities.

Lastly the Floriana application would see the installation of (a) new marina with landside improvements at Sa Maison and a new jetty, revetment system and electrical supply trench extension at Pieta, including sub-station.
