Minister for the family and social solidarity Michael Farrugia today inaugurated another LEAP centre – this time in Msida. Six family centres have been inaugurated across the islands.
Dr Farrugia said that today was an important day for his ministry since his party’s electoral pledge to open a number of family centres across Malta and Gozo has been implemented two and the half years before the end of this legislature.
He said that the inauguration of such centre is not about the unveiling of plaques but a clear sign that the government has an open-door policy for everyone.
The project aims to identify those people and categories within society who are either poor or at risk of poverty.
