Maltco Lotteries presented a cheque of €1,120,000 to the lucky owner of the ticket with the winning numbers. The second highest Grand Lottery Jackpot was won last Friday when the ticket holder had all the drawn numbers in order.  The numbers drawn were; 3 8 • 7 8 9 9 4.  The ticket was bought from Marsascala, Point of Sale no. 348.

The highest Grand Lottery Jackpot of €1,570,000 was won in January 2014.

A spokesperson for the company said that the winner, who is a family man, played this game for the past 2 years, for the simple reason that he likes it, he likes the fact that with one ticket he gets 10 different sets of numbers and therefore 10 chances.  He said that even though he never won any of the smaller prizes he enjoyed the thrill of dreaming what he would do with the money should he ever win, a fantasy that has now transformed into his reality. 

This seems to be a common feeling with most Grand Lottery players.  Quite a number of loyal Grand Lottery players have confessed that they play regularly just like many others play Super 5 or Lotto, they prefer to get their weekly Grand Lottery ticket, in order to try their luck.
