Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is guaranteeing a €115 million investment in the south of Malta, after long years of neglect by the Nationalist administration, only investing to pollute the south, the Labour Party said in a statement.
If the south of Malta was good enough for the power station, Freeport, sewage and waste implant for the PN, for the government, a new university is a good investment in the region, allowing for education pluralism, as promised in the electoral manifest.
The PL reminded that the government is accepting proposals for alternate locations, but ones which are more ‘serious’ than those offered by the PN – two of three where not even in the south.
“The PN has opposed the Enemalta investment, that of reducing utility tariffs, the citizenship investment programme and investment in the health sector.”
The government is being clear that the educational investment should be in the south, to create more jobs and investment in the area, the statement concluded.
