This year's Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Series are slowly drawing to a close.
A few days prior to the fifth concert in this series, Sigmund Mifsud, MPO Chairman accompanied Kenneth B Micallef Head CEO Office at Bank of Valletta to one of the rehearsals at the Robert Samut Hall.
Mro Brian Schembri will be directing the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra through some of the most renowned pieces by Classical musicians, namely Medelssohn, Richard Strauss and Beethoven. The audience will be further enthralled by the participation of Maltese Soprano Gillian Zammit who will be performing The Four Last Songs from Richard Strauss' final completed work.
Bank of Valletta has renewed its collaboration with the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra as part of its ongoing commitment to promote the world of arts and culture. Speaking during the visit, Kenneth B Micallef said, "Through the collaboration agreement with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra which goes back several years, Bank of Valletta seeks to create further awareness about performing arts and culture. Over the years, we have witnessed how the MPO has raised its profile and attracted greater audiences both locally and internationally. This is cause for pride for all involved."
Sigmund Mifsud thanked Bank of Valletta for its ongoing support. "We are all looking forward to a grand finale on Friday. Under the baton of Maestro Brian Schembri, who is both the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, I am certain that our professional musicians will bring these masterpieces to life."
