One of Maltas longest standing family businesses, P. Cutajar & Co. Ltd., celebrated its 150th anniversary on Saturday against the spectacular backdrop of the Grand Harbour.

More than 400 attended the celebrations at the Saluting Battery at Vallettas Upper Barakka Gardens, including customers, past and present employees and foreign suppliers from top brands including Ferrero, Lavazza, Pasqua, Bersano and Martini Group.

When we started out in 1865, the telephone had not yet been invented and Thomas Edison was still working on inventing the light bulb! P. Cutajar is now in its fifth generation and still going stronger as ever. As a company, we strive to build profitable relationships and are grateful to all those who have shown their support throughout the years. Thank you for being part of our story and we thank you all for being part of our future. We look forward to another 150 years of successful trading, said Denis Zammit Cutajar, P. Cutajar & Co. Ltd CEO.

After 150 years, P. Cutajar remains one of Maltas most dynamic and successful companies and has commemorated this milestone through the setting up of an independent foundation. The P. Cutajar Foundation will be receiving requests and ideas from the public and implementing various charitable initiatives.

The President of Malta H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, who attended the event, said: One hundred and fifty years of building profitable relationships is a great achievement. What Paul Cutajar started is now still a thriving family business and one of Maltas economic success stories. I augur P. Cutajar & Co. Ltd. more growth and success.

Paul Cutajar started operating as a trader from his Valletta residence in Strada Reale, and founded the firm in 1865. His company is now one of Maltas longest established importers and distributors of fast moving consumer goods. P. Cutajar & Co. boasts an extensive portfolio of wines, spirits, confectionary, food, beverage and retail brands including Dewars, Martini, Ferrero, Lavazza, Ollys, Solaris and Coccinelle.
