President Coleiro Preca launches Ball of the August Moon, to be held on 1 August

The President of Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca this morning launched the Ball of the August Moon 2015, which is going to be held on 1 August 2015.

The President of Malta explained how this Ball has a long success story, when some 1000 people attend to enjoy a night with the finest of food and the finest of entertainment. The President explained how this is going to be a special night, because those attending will not only be enjoying a great Summer evening, but they will be helping out the thousands of Maltese and Gozitans who seek the help of The Malta Community Chest Fund.

Every month, the Malta Community Chest Fund receives approximately 200 new applications and it is spending €250,000 monthly on chemotherapy and specialized care. The President also said that the Malta Community Chest Fund is the only national fund which provides financial help for overseas care, transport of patients and for their relatives.

During the press conference, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, explained how, the Ball is going to yet again be a special occasion in the majestic atmosphere that only the Verdala Palace can provide. Marchesino de Petri Testaferrata thanked the Band of the Armed Forces of Malta, the Band of the Malta Police Force, George Curmi (il-Puse’) and his band, as well as DJ Pierre Cordina who will all be entertaining the Patrons of the Ball on the night. He also thanked Island Caterers Ltd, who will be taking care of the catering during the night at a very reduced price in support of The Malta Community Chest Fund.
