'Agreement on Zonqor university should be published before parliament's recess'

Front Harsien ODZ today reiterated its call for the publication of the agreement with Sadeen over the development of a university in Zonqor.

In a press conference, spokesperson James Debono insisted that the agreement should be tabled to be scrutinized by parliament, the highest political institution. "The public deserves to know what the government has committed to," he said.

"The Labour Party pledged that it will change the way of doing politics; it promised accountability and transparency, but unfortunately, things have not changed. This only raises suspicion that agreements are being signed behind the public's back" Reuben Zammit, a resident of Marsascala said.

In reaction to the Prime Minister's announcement that the campus may be separated between Marsascala and another location, the front insisted that Zonqor is an ODZ land designated as nature park and that no part of it should be developed.

Following the protest two weeks ago, the front were not invited by the government to discuss as alternative to Zonqor.
