Ahead of the ninth edition of Isle of MTV at Floriana, the four artists addressed the press, speaking about their success and their hopes for tonight's show.
Worldwide DJ Martin Garrix will be closing the show tonight. At just nineteen, the Dutch DJ has spent the last year touring, while collaborating with huge artists such as Avicii and Usher.
He admitted that despite headlining various parties and festivals, he still get nervous before hitting the stage.
"At the end of the day, it's about how much work you put into it. There are so many DJs around the world that you have to try and create your own sound," he said.
"Producing the music is totally different from DJing, but that is what matters."
Before tonight's show the DJ is hoping to get on a boat and do some sightseeing.
R&B singer Jason Derulo said he's hoping to make a big splash at tonight's show. The artist has worked alongside legend Stevie Wonder. Since he started in 2009, the singer has sold over 50 million singles.
His latest release 'Want You to Want Me' has made it on billboard's top 10. The singer is expected to break out some of his famous moves on stage tonight.
"I like a woman who likes to try new things," the singer said with a wink, when asked about his love life.
Echosmith said that they are absolutely honoured to be sharing the stage with top artists tonight. The upcoming band is made up of four siblings. " It's like a big family trip," one member quipped.
The band have been a huge success, particularly with their track "Cool Kids."
"Malta is gorgeous, is it always this beautiful?" singer Tori Kelly said. The 22-year-old recently released her first album ' Unbreakable Smile.'
She gained recognition when she started posting YouTube videos at the age of 14. She co-wrote the single " Nobody Love" alongside Richard Goransson and Max Martin, who have written songs for Katy Perry, Pink and Taylor Swift.
The show will be aired on all MTV channels on 1 August.
The ninth edition Isle of MTV is being organised in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority.
