Paul Camilleri of Cospicua is the winner of a year of free travel on the public transport network with the tallinja card as he marked the one millionth journey made using a tallinja card. Since the start of the new transport card system, around 60,000 journeys have been made with a tallinja card every day. On Thursday 23rd July, Mr. Camilleri was the lucky one to travel for the millionth journey with this card.

Mr Camilleri uses the public transport daily. He had positive comments about the public transport network and about the new tallinja card system. He also gave important feedback which will help in improving further the passengers' experience on the buses. The benefits of the new ticketing system will be felt even more as the take up of the tallinja card increases.

"More than 60,000 journeys are made every day with the tallinja card. This figure keeps growing as more cards are distributed. This shows the increasing confidence in the new payment system by both regular and occasional users of the public transport", said Daniel Grech, Commercial Director of Malta Public Transport. "185,000 people have applied for a tallinja card. This represents almost half the Maltese and Gozitan population. Most of these cards have been already posted."

Mr. Camilleri was presented with a commemorative tallinja card by the Mr. Grech.
