Ali Muftah, the Libyan man charged with snatching a bag from a patron at a Paceville establishment while out on bail for drug possession, today pleaded guilty in Court.

The man, who insisted on not needing a lawyer, repeatedly admitted his guilt. He will have a lawyer present next week to confirm his plea in front of the court.

The 24-year-old man admitted to stealing the bag, which held objects worth €100 and a wallet containing €25, from a Maltese woman at Hugo’s Terrace. Muftah was also charged with carrying a sharp and pointed instrument without a police permit.

Magistrate Josette Demicoli presiding and Inspector Spettur Matthew Stagno prosecuting.
