The halls of HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta were full of smells of freshly baked cakes as hundreds of employees got busy asking each other whether they were baking or buying.
All cakes were prepared by staff, who brought them in dozens and in various colours and shapes. A total of 30 support staff members and 24 new recruits took part in the event and altogether raised more than €2,000 for the NGO, Victim Support Malta.
VSM provides support and assistance to victims of crime, such as thefts and burglaries, domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, discrimination and cybercrime. The HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta regularly organises various fund-raising and awareness activities to support the society it operates in, while its staff frequently volunteer in the community.
Established in 2006, the Centre has grown through the years with now more than 450 employees assisting UK customers. The centre has expanded its call types now also covering many different queries.
