Mdina Cathedral Organist John Aquilina has been invited to perform two organ concerts and deliver two master classes to young international organ students at the prestigious 29th Tallinn International Organ Festival, Estonia, between the 30 July and 9 August 2015.  This is an honour for John Aquilina and Malta as this is most probably the first-ever participation by a Maltese organist in such a long-running international organ festival.

John Aquilina will be performing one concert at St Elizabeth's Church, Pärnu on Friday 31 July at 8pm and another concert in Tallinn's main concert hall, the Niguliste Church, on Saturday 1 August 2015 8pm.

He will be performing organ works and transcriptions by Maltese composers Dr. Paolo Nani (1814-1904), Emanuele Galea (1790-1850), Charles Camilleri (1931-2009) and John Aquilina (b. 1968) apart from compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), César Franck (1822-1890), Franz Liszt (1811-1886) and Denis Bédard (b. 1950).  John Aquilina will also be giving master classes to young and talented organists (under the age of 19) from amongst others, Estonia, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia and Poland, at St. John's Church, Tallinn on Thursday 30 July and Sunday 2 August.

The Tallinn International Organ Festival has become one of the most prominent organ music forums in the whole world.  It is organised by Estonian State Concert Institute "Eesti Kontsert", which speaks of its highest quality and support from the Estonian state. The festival's artistic director is Prof. Andres Uibo.  John Aquilina will be performing along a world-class line up of organists and composers such as Peter van Dijk, Ben van Oosten (Netherlands), Edouard Oganessian (France), Matthias Giesen (Austria), Naji Hakim (Lebanon/France), Ullrich Böhme (Germany) and Andres Uibo (Estonia).
