Police confirm identity of woman found dead in Gozo, death still treated as 'suspicious'

The police have confirmed that the woman found dead in Gozo last Sunday is the Danish woman who had been reported missing three days earlier. She was 71.

The woman, named in sections of the media as Vera Holm, was found naked in a valley in the limits of Victoria, and the police are ruling her death as suspicious. No belongings were found in the vicinity of the corpse.

The police said today that the identity was established after forensic tests were carried out.

The police said that the autopsy did not confirm the cause of death. The woman was found with bruises to the head and chest.
