Front Harsien ODZ has submitted its feedback on a proposal to locate an AUM campus in Cottonera after being asked to do by consultants from a private company engaged by government to conduct a Social Impact Assessment on the proposal that the American University of Malta opens a Campus at Cottonera.

In its submission Front Harsien ODZ in a statement reiterated its opposition to any development in Zonqor and any other site located outside development boundaries, including the development of ODZ infrastructure while expressing its willingness to discuss any proposal located on already developed sites.

“We welcome any attempt to locate the campus and its facilities in already developed sites.  The government’s decision to explore the possibility of locating the campus in Cottonera may be a step in this direction which  vindicates the demands made in Malta’s largest ever environmental protest. We insists on full transperancy, full consultation with local communities, local councils and NGOs and the publication of all agreements and studies related to the AUM development as proposed by Sadeen construction group.”
