The Consolidated Fund balance has decreased by €107 million, or 40%, when compared to the same period last year. The government’s revenue increased by €193 in the first half of 2015, the government said in a statement.
“While the Opposition is accusing the government of having public expenditure increase without any control whatsoever, officials statistics show otherwise. The recurrent expenditure increase during the first half of 2015 was that of 4.8%, or less than 11% which was registered under the previous administration,” the statement continued.
During the first half of 2015, the capital expenditure was that of €206 million, or €50 million more when compared to the last year of the previous government's tenure. The government invested €300,000 on a daily basis in capital and infrastructural projects more than the previous administration spent, the statement continued.
