A 22-year-old driver and his 14-year-old passenger have been admitted to hospital following a car accident in Qormi.

The accident happened at around 1:30pm in Triq is-Sebh, Qormi when the 22-year-old driver, driving a Honda Civic, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree.

The two were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police later said the driver, on St Paul's Bay was slightly injured while the boy, of Sliema, suffered serious injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
