Unidentified workers were photographed yesterday laying a concrete pond in the middle of some fields lying in a valley between Żebbuġ and the Fanal tal-Ġordan, near Għasri.

Sources said the workers were laying a large pond to use for wild duck hunting. The water, it was explained, would attract the ducks and present the hunters with a target. Our source explained that all the work being done was illegal and a search on the Mepa website did not show any planning applications of the sort in the area.
