Entities forming part of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD) will benefit from €1 million in EU funds, parliamentary secretary Ian Borg announced today. Each project may be allocated a total of €100,000.

Members of the MCESD include General Workers’ Union, Union Ħaddiema Maqgħudin, Malta Employers Asssociaiton, Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association, Malta Chamber of Commerce, and the General Retailers and Traders’ Union.

The European Social Fund supports jobs, helping people get better jobs and ensuring fairer job opportunities for all EU citizens.

The entities are to put forward their proposals, which will be analysed by the Commission. Funds can be used to carry out research studies or implement initiatives.

The social partners can collaborate together and propose a project.
