Inter and Argentina legend Javier Zanetti is to return to Malta next month to coach at a training camp for children at the Luxol Sports Ground in Pembroke, following the success of last year's event. McDonald's is proud to be the training camp's main sponsor for a second year.

Zanetti, who played for Inter from 1995 until his retirement in 2014, is the Italian club's vice-president. He is Argentina's most capped player.

The training camp, organised by local supporters club Inter Club Pupi Zanetti and Javier Zanetti, will be held from August 14 to 16 for children of various ages. Throughout the event, Zanetti will share the secret to his skill and his ethos, famously grounded in discipline and sportsmanship.

"The training camp will give children a wonderful opportunity to be up close and personal with a footballing legend as they practise their favourite sport," Premier Restaurants Malta marketing director Lee Warren, said. "McDonald's is delighted to support Javier Zanetti and Inter Club Malta to make this dream a reality."

The children's training camp is one of a programme of activities organised by Inter Club Malta during Zanetti's stay. A gala dinner in his honour will be held at the Radisson Blu Resort and Spa Golden Sands on August 16. A more casual barbecue for supporters and friends will be organised on Mellieha's main square the following day.

All proceeds from the events will go to the PUPI Foundation, the charity founded by Zanetti and his wife Paula in 2001 to provide food, shelter and education to Argentina's homeless and underprivileged children (www.fundacionpupi.org). McDonald's in Malta has pledged a donation to the Zanettis' cause.

"This is Zanetti's second training camp in Malta and Inter Club Pupi Zanetti is grateful to him for accepting our invitation once again," Inter Club Pupi Zanetti president Paul Fenech said. "This training camp would not be possible without sponsors like McDonald's. Our thanks also go to them."
