Update (2): Two hit-and-run accidents leave two men in critical condition, one woman hurt

A foreigner is in critical condition after he was hit by a car in Marsa Road, Marsa, on Sunday evening, the police said.

The man was hit by a Ford Fiesta driven by a 58-year-old of Fgura at 9.45pm.

He was taken to hospital where he was found to be in critical condition.

The police did not disclose the man’s age and nationality and said on its Facebook page that it is seeking information from people who might have seen the accident to help in their investigation.

Another hit-and-run accident took place in Rabat this morning. The police were on the lookout for a car which this morning hit two people in Rabat, and kept on going. 

The accident took place at abut 2.50am in Racecourse Street. A 21-year-old man from Rabat is in critical condition. A 21-year-old woman from Mellieha was slightly injured. 

The police said the two were among several pedestrians walking in the street when they were hit by the vehicle, which subsequently drove off. The police said later that the driver had been identified and was helping in the investigation.
