Late substitute Adrian Ramos secured Borussia Dortmund's 3-1 victory over Hertha Berlin on Sunday that preserved his team's lead in the Bundesliga.

Ramos came on in the 79th minute and scored three minutes into injury time to make sure Dortmund stayed ahead of defending champion Bayern Munich. Both Dortmund and Bayern have won their opening three matches but Dortmund has scored one more goal.

Defender Mats Hummels scored with a header in the 27th, connecting with a cross from Shinji Kagawa. Kagawa also played a role in Dortmund's second goal, picking out Matthias Ginter, who fed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for an easy tap-in.

Salomon Kalou, another late substitute, pulled one back for Hertha in the 78th, scoring seven minutes after coming on.

Kagawa missed an empty net in the second half.
