A 54-year-old British woman who resides in Mellieha is in a critical condition following a head-on crash in Triq is-Salini this morning.

The police said the woman was driving a Suzuki Vitara that crashed with a Volkswagen Golf. The driver of the Golf is a 23-year-old man, also from Mellieha. The man was hospitalised with slight injuries.

An inquiry is under way.
