A woman suffered grievous injuries this afternoon after she was hit by a horse in Ghajnsielem, Gozo, the police said.

The accident happened at around 5.30pm in Mgarr Road.

The 37-year-old from Marsa was hit by a horse and sulky during a race, the police said.

The woman was taken to the Gozo General Hospital for treatment.
