Regarding the letter by Denis Bartolo entitled "Pets on Virtù Ferries" (TMIS, 23 August), I would like to inform Mr Bartolo that the Virtù Ferries crew consists of excellent people who, however, have other more important things to do during the crossing than check the various pets.
Besides, even if they do so as a favour to the passenger, they obviously cannot monitor what is happening to the animals. So the problem remains that pets cannot be left in the heat and the fumes regardless of how kind the crew is.
