I would like to clarify some points with reference to an article titled 'SVPR dementia patient found wandering in street next to Marsa horse track' (TMIS 23 August 2015).
The Charge Nurses (Nursing Officers) mentioned in the article are both MUMN members. The MUMN became aware of the case regarding a patient at Pope John Paul II Ward 2 only a fortnight ago.
In the article there is a reference of a statement issued by the MUMN in which it protested with SVPR management regarding inequality of procedures for disciplinary cases between MUMN members and non-members.
In this statement the MUMN was in no way referring to the incident of a patient at Pope John Paul II Ward 2, since at that time the MUMN was unaware of this incident and that the Charge Nurse (Nursing Officer) of this ward is an MUMN member.
In fact, the statement was published more than a month ago. In the statement the MUMN was referring to employees pertaining to other categories of workers, not nurses.
