President Marie Louis Coleiro Preca today launched the tenth edition of Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina, which will be held on 4 October.

This year’s event will feature a La Ferrari, a McLaren P1, a Porsche 918 Spider and, for the first time in Malta, a Koenigsegg.  

The event will be held at the Hal Farrug side of the Malta International Airport. Those who attend will be able to drive the world famous cars and take part in other attractions that will be announced at a later stage.

Speaking at today’s press conference, Mrs Coleiro Preca thanked the organisers and the public for making the past nine editions a success.

Mary Rose Farrugia, whose son Samuel has been receiving assistance from the Malta Community Chest Fund, also addressed the media. She said her son, who is sightless, could be sent abroad for treatment thanks to the MCCF.

The President explained how Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina is one of a number of events organized yearly to raise funds for the MCCF in order to help people in need, including those who need to be sent abroad for expensive treatment.
