Monday, 31 August 2015, 10:38 Last update: about 10 years ago

The second edition of WALK CYCLE RUN in aid of Dar tal-Providenza this year will be held on Sunday 27th September, at 9.15am. It will be organised by Grupp Żgħażagħ Gudja with the collaboration of RTK4Charity. The Walk starts from Siġġiewi centre, the Bicycles will leave from Mdina Cathedral centre while the Run from Żurrieq parish centre. All three sport activities will end at the ‘Dar tal-Providenza’ car park.

As a special event, a motor bike event is being organised on the same day and starts at 10am from Pembroke Luxol Ground. All participants through these four sport disciplines are to be given a certificate of participation and commemorative T-Shirt, thank to our main sponsors FINCO u CAREMALTA. Transport to Siġġiewi and Żurrieq will be provided accordingly after the event.

This year ’Dar tal-Providenza’ is celebrating the 50th anniversary from its foundation. The excellent service and dedication to its 100 residents with special needs, is the most important aim for this home. Residents are being offered an alternative home due to some familiar problems.  ’Id-Dar tal-Providenza’ offers also respite service to all the family of the residents, so to reach the goal of comfort and full support to feel at home as much as possible.

Keeping in mind that there are a good number of full timers and so many other voluntary persons, it is estimated that the ‘Dar tal-Providenza’ needs invest 13,000 euro daily to keep running its daily need for these residents. All this work can be only possible throughout our generous Maltese citizens that continuously believe and give a helping hand through donations to keep this home running smoothly and ongoing without any difficulties as much as possible. On the 27th September everyone is invited to participate and contribute throughout the ‘WALK, CYCLE RUN’ activity in solidarity with this dedicated home for persons with special needs.
