Watch: Ghajn Tuffieha ‘skeleton find’ was part of a well-crafted prank by Bla Kondixin team

The “discovery” of a skull in Ghajn Tuffieha last Saturday was part of a well-orchestrated prank by the Bla Kondixin team.

Practically all media houses in Malta reported how bathers were “shocked at the discovery” as a wooden box containing a skull was unearthed from the sand.

The police later confirmed that it was all a prank and there was no cause for alarm.

A video uploaded on the Bla Kondixin Facebook page shows how the prank was carried out. It all started with an actor, armed with a metal detector, asking sunbathers to remove their sunbeds after his equipment “located” something beneath the sand. Beachgoers looked on in amazement as the man dug a hole in the sand and unearthed the box. Many filmed the whole thing on their mobile phones. A woman can be heard exclaiming “Ommi Ma” as the box is opened and its contents revealed. “Police officers” were then called in and two “forensics officers” bagged the supposed human remains and went off with them.

The video then shows screenshots of the ensuing news reports and a clip of two crew members burying the box in the sand the night before the “discovery.”
