A young Libyan refugee was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to attempted theft from a house in Floriana. Sources said Khaled Eddali, 25, from Tripoli, was caught by police on the roof of the residence.

He was charged with attempted theft and relapsing.

Legal aid lawyer Patrick Valentino said the accused, who sported a tattoo of a smoking revolver and the words ‘Victory ore death (sic)’ on his neck, was pleading not guilty and was not requesting bail since he had no fixed address.

Inspector Jeffrey Scicluna prosecuted.
